Appendix D — Evidence Status and Research Context

Nonduality-Based Stress Reduction is an emerging, evidence-informed program. While the core practices draw on well-established research in mindfulness, attention regulation, emotion processing, and stress physiology, NDSR as a distinct intervention is still under active development.

Existing research supports several components relevant to this program, including:

  • Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR)

  • Acceptance-based therapies

  • Decentering and metacognitive awareness

  • Somatic approaches to stress and trauma

Preliminary pilot studies and observational data suggest that awareness-based approaches emphasizing de-identification may offer additional benefits for certain populations, particularly those who experience chronic stress or plateau with conventional methods.

Readers are encouraged to interpret emerging research cautiously and to avoid overstating claims. NDSR is presented as a promising approach, not a definitive solution.
